Atlantic Beach Country Club Golf Course Named One of Nation’s Best

Stunning homes, spectacular amenities, great beach location, and now the Atlantic Beach Country Club can add high praise for its new golf course to the list of things that make the new country club so desirable. Golf Digest recently named the course to its list of the 36 best new courses in the country. With this most recent accolade, demand is sure to increase even more for a membership with this exciting new beach-side country club.

Atlantic Beach Country Club is built on the site of the historic Selva Marina Country Club, where golf-great Jack Nicklaus made his first double eagle at the Greater Jacksonville Open in 1966. Over the years, the Selva Marina property lost some of its polish, so the Atlantic Beach Country Club Partners stepped in to create a brand new development that has caught people’s attention. Sales of homes and memberships have far exceeded expectations, with 152 home sites already under contract out of the 178 available, including beautiful coastal living homes designed by Glenn Layton.

Part of the draw, besides the fact that the club is just four blocks from the beach, is the 6,868-yard, par-71 course. Designed by Erik Larsen of LarsenGolf, the course is almost completely undisturbed by the homes on the site. Featuring unique bunkering, Celebration Bermuda fairways, and TifEagle greens, the course rewards risky tee shots and aggressive angles. The more daring a golfer is, the greater the reward on the next shot.

Yet this course isn’t only for great players. The goal was to create a course that appeals to a variety of skill levels. Even the average player will have plenty of fun, while the really good players will finish the round, happy with the challenges they faced. And after a great day of golf, members have a 16,000-square-foot clubhouse to enjoy, which includes a pool deck, a junior Olympic swimming pool, clay tennis courts, a tennis shop, and a fitness center.

With so much to offer, excitement is reaching fever pitch for the January grand opening of the Atlantic Beach Country Club.
