Youth Crisis Center Holiday Project
Home Builder in Jacksonville Beach, Glenn Layton Homes, Supports the Youth Crisis Center!
Many people give both time and money throughout the year to a variety of important causes. However, this time of year brings extra focus on the many organizations, centers, and charities that need support. One such important group is the Youth Crisis Center. Founded in 1974 as Florida’s first runaway program, it has grown to be one of the largest providers of services for runaway, displaced and troubled youth, and their families. To help make the holidays a little brighter for these young people, Glenn Layton Homes, a home builder in Jacksonville Beach, is supporting the center again this holiday season and encouraging others to lend a helping hand.
Last year, Glenn Layton partnered with homeowners at Paradise Key South Beach to donate hundreds of dollars worth of clothes, books, DVDs, CDs, games, sporting goods, and more, to the children that live at the YCC shelter. Without these donations, many of these children may not have received any gifts at all.
This year, the home builder in Jacksonville Beach is encouraging homeowners and residents of the Paradise Key South Beach and Jacksonville Beach communities to get involved once again. All people have to do is drop off new, unwrapped items at Paradise Key South Beach, located at 3611 Paradise Way, off Jacksonville Drive and A1A.
The Youth Crisis Center is a non-profit organization that provides exceptional care for youth and their families. The agency acts as a “first responder” to youth who are at risk of entering the juvenile justice system due to personal or family problems. By working with these young people at such an important point in their lives, the center aims to give them new opportunities and better ways of handling issues, in the hope of creating a new, positive path forward in their life.
Part of their care is providing short- and long-term housing and counseling for at-risk youth. For 40 years, they have worked to keep hope alive for young people who have faced a variety of hardships in their young lives. By offering these simple gifts, you too can help keep hope alive this holiday season.
